The photographs in this book are fantastic. This is a large coffee table type book, but has a lot of interesting text and wonderful quotes that accompany the photos. Perhaps this is a picky complaint, but I found reading the essays and flipping to the back of the book to identify the quotes a bit awkward, considering the size of the book. Still, I would recommend this book to all dog lovers. Best enjoyed for the very special pictures of dogs in action and for the lovely quotes.All of Lewis Blackwell's books are beautiful. The captions for the photographs and history behind each subject is great. Can't wait to buy The Life and Love of Cats. I've seen it, and it's beautiful too. I meant to do at least 4 stars.I'm a hard one to please when it comes to dog books but this is truly a beautiful book! The photos are of the finest quality and the quotes hit very near to this dog lovers' heart. Bought it for my fathers' 91st birthday and can't wait to give it to him. Real quality books are so very hard to find these days......A fabulous book for dog lovers and also for animal lovers of any type. The photographs are fabulous.
