Mary Torre Kelly’s new book is a bit unusual; perhaps even a bit weird. But, hey, the cover announces right up front, “A Liberal Dusting of the Supernatural.” The book certainly does not disappoint in that regard.I was impressed by the author’s use of lesser used terms in our lexicon throughout the book. There were a couple of times that I had resorted to stop reading and look up definitions (mostly on Google rather than Webster.)What is really impressive though is Mary Torre Kelly’s apparent (should I say ‘obvious’) knowledge of varying aspects of current technologies. She is a regular modern STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) woman. So, all in all it’s an interesting book, speculative as advertised, but never boring read. A fun read.Weird maybe, but definitely not boring. In another by-gone time, I might suggest we talk about LSD usage while writing. But that ship already sailed and it’s a new day in the neighborhood! This was written by an old Geezer-ah (who’s ever just on the verge of erupting.)a.k.a. Patrick Crane
